Cosmonauts..50 years later

As 50 years have past from the first human space flight, I’m sure you all remember Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin, the Soviet  cosmonaut that was to be remembered as the first man in outer space. After launching the Vostok spacecraft completed an orbit of the Earth on April 12, 1961.

In order to celebrate and remember the historical landmark, on the 5th of April 2011….inside

a Soyuz-FG rocket,with the Soyuz TMA-21 spacecraft attached to it, was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome ( the same launching point of Gagarin’s flight 50 years earlier, and the place from which the first artificial satellite was launched) heading towards the International Space Station. The crew: Ron Garan, Alexander Samokutyaev and Andrey Borisenko

The Russian space agency, Roscosmos, officially dedicated the Soyuz TMA-21 launch to the pioneering mission of the Vostok spacecraft on April 12, 1961.
