Lotus Exige Matte Black
Today in Monterey, British sports car maker Lotus unveiled the Exige Matte Black Final Edition. The limited edition version of the car is exclusive to the North American market, featuring a little more performance, upgraded interior and of course the matte black finish. Only 25 of these will every be produced.
Justin Timberlake buys MySpace
Justin Timberlake is to take a “major role” in the new direction of Myspace after he emerged as one of those behind a $35m deal for the ailing social network.
The singer turned actor, who starred as Facebook investor Sean Parker in the Hollywood hit The Social Network, took a stake in Myspace along with the online advertising company, Specific Media.
The unlikely entrepreneur will “lead the business strategy” for the fallen social network, the Specific Media chief executive Tim Vangerhook, said on announcing the $35m deal on Wednesday evening. In an interview with AdAge, Vanderhook said Timberlake, 30, had put his own money into buying Myspace, but refused to disclose how much. He confirmed that the former N Sync singer will have an office in Myspace but that he was “probably not going to be there every day”.
Timberlake said in a statement: “There’s a need for a place where fans can go to interact with their favorite entertainers, listen to music, watch videos, share and discover cool stuff and just connect. Myspace has the potential to be that place.Art is inspired by people and vice versa, so there’s a natural social component to entertainment. I’m excited to help revitalise Myspace by using its social media platform to bring artists and fans together in one community.”
The Pope has Tweeted
His Holiness used the Vatican’s news account to send his first tweet, which announced the launch of a news information portal (and, of course, praised Jesus.
Unlike other tweets sent from the account, the tweet from the Pope was sent using Twitter for iPad.
Does the Pope have an iPad? Guess so ! Or at least he used one to launch the new site.

Google Latest – What do you love?
Google has launched a new, mysterious service called What Do You Love?. It’s a simple search box, similar to the one on Google’s homepage, but it returns results from over 20 different Google services, including Google Translate, Trends, YouTube, Maps, Groups etc.
The results are presented in little boxes which can, in some cases, be expanded by clicking on the icon in the lower right corner; if you need even more results, you can always click the button in the upper right corner of the box and go directly to the chosen service.
The service is located on the address www.wdyl.com and google.com/whatdoyoulove/ , but so far there is no info about it on google blogs.

Hublot Nastie Bang
Hublot has designed a watch in memory of the former No 1 ATP tennis player Ilie Nastase. The watch was launched in London, at the opening of Hublot’s boutique no 36.
The Nastie Bang will be produced in a limited series of 132 watches, representing the number of tournaments won by Ilie Nastase during his career with 87 singles and 45 doubles.
It is a Big Bang model, from black ceramic, with Automatic Chronograph movement. The Romanian flag is placed on the side of the housing, while Ilie Nastase’s signature is engraved on the anthracite dial.

A few days ago a few journalists from the Sun, decided to visit Romania, the city of Tandarei to be precise, to see the houses of some gypsyes that received about 800.000 pounds from the UK government as social benefits (illegaly)
Without any further ado ( I always wanted to say this ) this is what they discovered

145 years since King Carol I proclaimed himself as “king of Romanians,” King Michael has informed that beginning Tuesday he breaks all connection with the Royal House of Hohenzollern. In this way, he respects the 1921 decision of his ancestor, King Ferdinand I to give a national character to the Romanian Royal House, according to the Royalty press release on Tuesday.

Mark Jenkins is a street artist currently living in Washington DC, he uses packing tape to create his base forms using a casting process in which the object is first encased in plastic wrap and then in tape.
Jenkins’ practice of art is to use the “street as a stage” where passersby become actors. Many of his installations have resulted in intervention by the authorities whom he also regards as actors. Check out some of his works and decide for yourself.

Grandfather’s Iskra Pocket Watch
As you can see in my previous post on the subject, just 2 days ago i realized what i had in my possession. As the watch isn’t working yet, I made same photos for a watchmaker who was kind enough to help me with some details about it, now I’m waiting on his reply about the condition based on the photos.
From the ”Russian Empire” to the ”Soviet Union”
I always knew.. from the moment when me and my brother developed the annoying habit of saying “For mother Russia” with a Bolshevik accent..so to say
My grandfather was for a couple of years an elected member of the ”Great National Assembly”, a.k.a the legislature of the Romanian People’s Republic and the Socialist Republic Romania( in fact it had almost nothing to do with the definition, cause a dictator can make sure of that). As he passed away a few years ago me and my brother took the memorabilia from those days, including a pocket watch i knew nothing about.
Back to present times – today i was browsing on eBay, looking at some old Russian watches when i remembered about the pocket watch!. After retrieving the watch, saw it had only one name written on it and of course it was in Cyrillic alphabet…after the internet proofed useless, my mom remembered she is somewhat ”familiar” with the former language of the CCCP.
